Meetings
Meetings
The CTPSPG organises monthly group meetings which usually take place on the last Thursday of the month. We usually use these monthly group meetings to think about and discuss practical, theoretical, and clinical issues based on an assigned reading.
We also have an annual Ethics workshop, and occasional seminars, lectures, workshops and presentations of original papers, often presented by a colleague from overseas.
Reading Groups
Most members belong to one of the smaller reading groups, which usually meet monthly. Many of these are long-standing, close-knit groups, and have been described as the ‘heart’ of the CTPSPG. They function largely independently and choose their own course of reading, while the CTPSPG tracks their attendance and content for CPD purposes. We also offer a mentorship program to assist the formation of new reading groups, as well as to guide existing reading groups, when requested, with challenges they may be experiencing with their readings or discussions.
We have two special, focused reading groups, which are designed as introductions to the fundamentals of our main fields of interest, namely Self Psychology, Intersubjectivity Theory and Relational Psychoanalysis. These are free for members of the CTPSPG.
